Welcome to the information page for the Summer Science Institute (SSI) program. We are a program that began in 1992 with the goal of exposing Eagan High School students to the beauty and wonder of nature... not city park-type nature, but truly getting out there and spending nine days in the Northwoods (Lake of the Woods area) at Laketrails Base Camp, learning and laughing. I took over running the SSI program in 2011 from Denny Foreman, who started the program in 1992. I have been on the SSI trip 18+ times, am a former wilderness canoe and backpacking guide, and have been sharing the wilderness with my family and friends all of my life. In my opinion, what was started over 30 years ago is the highlight of many Eagan students' high school careers, and I would love to continue the tradition of experiential learning and wilderness exploration that this wonderful program is...
