Mathematics
In order to prepare for post-secondary studies and the future job market, students can benefit from a well-chosen plan of mathematical coursework that is appropriate for them. With this in mind, the Eagan Mathematics department offers courses that are sequential and appropriate to meet each student’s plan for the future. We strongly recommend that all students take four years of Mathematics in grades 9-12. Many colleges and universities are requiring three years and recommending four years of high school-level Mathematics, along with experience in applied math and computer applications or programming. Vocational and technical schools also require a strong math background for many of their programs.
To fulfill graduation requirements, all students are required to complete nine trimester courses (three full years) of Math, through the successful completion of Algebra 2 (or its equivalent). Incoming ninth graders are enrolled in a Math course based on input from the eighth grade Math teacher, previous grades in Math courses, standardized test scores and student/family choice. 9th Grade families should note that Algebra 1 and Intermediate Algebra are different courses.

Vocal Music
The Eagan High School Vocal Music Department offers a vibrant and comprehensive program serving nearly 300 students. The program includes six curricular choirs and six co-curricular ensembles, providing students with a wide range of musical experiences in the areas of classical, jazz, musical theatre, and contemporary a cappella.
In addition to these ensembles, students participate in the school’s annual musical and ENCORE!, a musical variety showcase performed with the Eagan High School Jazz Band. Throughout the year, choir members engage in a variety of performance opportunities, including singing the National Anthem at Minnesota Twins and Timberwolves games, attending regional choral festivals, and working with guest clinicians in concerts and masterclasses. The Eagan Choral Department also takes pride in commissioning new works from composers, with a special emphasis on connecting with voices that have been historically underrepresented.
The program also supports a thriving voice lesson program, with more than 60 students studying weekly with professional voice instructors. Every three years, students in grades 10–12 have the opportunity to travel internationally on a choir tour, using music to build cultural connections and broaden their global perspective.

Special Services
The Special Services department at Eagan High School is dedicated to supporting students through personalized Special Education and English Language Developer (ELD) programs. For students with an active Individual Education Plan (IEP), we offer a range of support tailored to their specific needs, always prioritizing the least restrictive environment. This includes co-taught classes for 9th and 10th graders where two teachers work together in a standard classroom, pull-out sessions for targeted academic help, and specialized center-based programs for students requiring more intensive, comprehensive support.
Our ELD services are equally flexible, designed to help students master the English language while staying on track with their graduation requirements. We provide a continuum of support that ranges from small-group intensive language instruction to "sheltered" and co-taught core academic courses. By combining language development with standard curriculum, we ensure that our English learners have the same access to high-quality education and support as their peers, fostering both academic success and personal confidence.
